| Brian’s paintings are tributes to Midwestern natural beauty, executed with tremendous care and meticulous detail. He works primarily in egg tempera, a medium noted for its luminosity, durability and relative lack of practitioners after the sixteenth century. His recent focus on landscape painting draws heavily on his childhood memories of exploring the wooded areas of Indiana’s Montgomery County and frequent excursions into other untamed regions. His aim is to capture and communicate the mystery and beauty that he finds in the wild. A traditionalist and a realist at heart, he explores old world techniques and methods. |
